Things to Do With The Kids This Fall

Things to Do With The Kids This Fall

Fall is one of my favorite times of the year. I can finally turn the air conditioner off and take a break from the Texas heat. But here are a few things I like to do with my kids that cost little to nothing in the fall.

Church Bazaars: Talk about family fun. Every church bazaar is different, but the bazaars I attend have great food, music, and kid activities. Did I mention the food?

Pumpkin Patch: Some towns have some sort of pumpkin patch. If the town doesn’t have it, more than likely the nearby market has them. The pumpkin patch I go to have daycares or head start students come by the busload to tell the kids about pumpkins. They give the kids a small pumpkin, or it cost a small fee to purchase one. Great place for a fall photo opportunity.

Local Park: A place to check out the fall foliage. I love the colors of the leaves on the trees. Another excellent location for a fall photo opportunity.

Hayrides and Corn Maze: Sounds country, but they are fun nonetheless. Most of them are found at a local farmer’s market, and some church’s do hayrides.

Football Games: I have boys, but some girls like football too. I’m not a fan of football, but I love a great marching band. Take the kids to the local high school football game or my favorite, attend an HBCU football game.

Local Zoo or Museum: The local zoo or museum usually has a monthly or holiday theme. You can find great rates for them on Ebates, Groupon, and Goldstar.

Let us know of the fun things you like to do in the fall in the comments below. Can’t wait to hear about them.
