Why I Bring My Kids On Vacation?
I'm always asked, "Why do you bring your kids with you to places to vacation? It's a time to relax." I give a puzzled look and ask them, "Why would you think I'm not relaxing?" When I bring my kids with me, I plan to have fun just like them. I plan our vacation around my sons, so I do research. Gabriel and Raphael deserve to see as much as I can show them. Not because I have it, or I have to, but because every time I go somewhere without them, I mention what they would like to do here or there. So, I made the decision to take them with me.
I get suggestions that I should do certain things by myself, which sometimes I do. I have a social life where I go out with my friends to a restaurant or concert. But, when it comes to flying, road trips, and train rides, they're always ready to go. I don't have to worry about anyone ditching me or any other excuse of why someone else can't go. It may cost a little bit more, and that's what I save my funds for.
Solo travelers have inspired me to go this route of taking my sons on vacation with me. Not just for the relaxation, but to learn more about the places that we will visit and expose them to different cultures. I wanted to make sure Gabriel and Raphael had something to remember and to understand they have options in life. I wasn't taught how to live life; I was taught how to survive. I want them to somehow know about both.
